About Fleet 61

Hobie Fleet 61 has a rich history within the Rocky Mountain region dating back to the early 70s. In summers past our Fleet has hosted regattas at great venues such as, Lake McCounaghy, Flaming Gorge, Glendo Resivor, and even Lake Dillion. However today we find ourselves in the same boat as most sailing organizations, smaller in membership numbers yet rich in experience and overflowing with enthusiasm to share the “Hobie Way of Life.”

 Hobie Fleet 61 is a part of the Division 5 Community that makes up of the 16 diviisions of the HCA ( Hobie Class Association of North America). Fleet 61 is one of the 4 remainging Division 5 Fleets. Fleet 61 currently hosts 1 nationally ranked points regatta and 1 "Family Fun" Sailing weekend. Fleet 61 has several members consistently ranked in the Top 5 Hobie Sailors in North America. 

 Hobie Cats more stable and faster than other small sailboats and when the breeze increases they rocket across the water reaching speeds up to ~25 MPH.
